What skills have you lost over the years?

I believe that with enough years and enough skills that an unused one can atrophy and disappear given enough time. So goons, what were you good at that you weren't good at before and why aren't you able to do it now?

I used to dabble a lot in art back in middle school. I was killer with any black and white medium. Pencils, charcoal, ink and pen, etc. I make some pretty decent and on occasion very impressive art. And I would stay up until the wee hours of the morning. An art teacher ruined that for me and I haven't done so since.

I also did a lot of poetry in my high school. Good stuff that I probably could have submitted for publication. I can't put my finger on why exactly. I think I just got bored.

I used to think I was a pretty decent writer. I remember winning awards in middle and elementary school. But, in just this past school year I just gave up on it, and I blame it on my English teacher for making writing more of a hassle and taking the fun out of writing stories.

Anytime I start a story or something for fun, I never finish it too. But yeah, I think maybe next school year, I'll get a less bitchy fat teacher who'll let me enjoy it again.

I used to be a decent violist and a good writer. I lost my violist skills due to lack of practice because of my disinterest in classical music. As for writing, all my teachers used to tell me I was great. I stopped writing for about a year due to that foul demon World of Warcraft, so that's probably where I started to sink. I blame my junior english teacher for my loss of motivation. If I actually tried to do a decent piece of writing and put effort into it, she'd give me a C no matter what. If I just threw some crap together and turned it in, she gave me a B. It was completely idiotic because the better my writing was, the worse my grade became. So now my writing is amateurish at best.
