Well, I have a Zelda fanfic to show. It's supposed to take place seven years after MM, so in this story, Link is Adult Link. I also posted this story at another forum I'm a member at, which is Zelda Universe, but the first version was kinda crappy, so I'm rewriting it. I only got as far as posting the first rewritten chapter before I got banned over there, so I thought I might want to post it here too. Yeah, some of you might recognize me and know who I am over there now, but meh, I don't really care, so yeah.
Anyway, my story has two main characters, one of them being Link and the other, a girl named Kelli. She plays a major role in this adventure, and even fights along side Link at certain parts of the story. I hope you like her and other characters that will appear later on in the story.
Well, here's the first chapter, I hope you like it. ^_^
Chapter One: The Return
It was a late afternoon and Link rode his horse, Epona through a thick, dense forest, the setting sun to his left. Ever since he saved the land of Termina seven years before, he had been on a search for his old guardian fairy, Navi. He searched day and night for her, only stopping to rest and whenever he saw a town or village, he would look for her there too. Right now, Link was finally thinking about giving up the search. However, he knew he shouldn%u2019t. No matter how long it took, he wanted to see his friend again.
As Link slowed Epona to a stop to take a look around the forest he was in, he scanned his surroundings. Link%u2019s blonde bangs swayed back and forth in the light breeze that had begun to blow as he looked. Soon, his eyes watered and a tear trickled down his cheek. He missed his friend very much, even if she had been a little annoying at times.
Link wiped his tears away. Navi was out there somewhere, maybe even looking for him. He continued on his way, thinking of the great adventure he had with her in Hyrule. Navi%u2019s advice had been so helpful to him, even if she did repeat it occasionally. Though, Link could tell she only did it so he wouldn%u2019t forget. He actually enjoyed listening to her exclaim %u201CHey!%u201D or %u201CListen!%u201D or %u201CWatch out!%u201D or %u201CLook!%u201D It was because he knew Navi cared about him just as he did her.
As it kept getting darker outside, Link was having difficulty seeing. However, it didn%u2019t hold him back much. Pretty soon, he spotted a bright bluish white light floating between the trees. It was ball shaped and at first appeared as a floating orb. However, as it came closer to Link, he noticed faint white wings on it. His eyes grew wide. It had to be Navi. It had to be! Link%u2019s heart started pounding as the fairy-like creature came closer. It was Navi. Link smiled. Finally, his journey was over. He gently spoke to the fairy.
%u201CNavi?%u201D he quietly called. Link watched happily as the fairy stopped in front of him. He couldn%u2019t be gladder to see his old guardian fairy again.
%u201CLink!%u201D Navi responded, sounding happy as well. Her wings flapped faster. %u201COh Link, you don%u2019t know how happy I am to see you again!%u201D
%u201CI%u2019m happy to see you too,%u201D Link said with a smile. %u201CI%u2019ve been looking for you for seven years, Navi, seven years! Where%u2019ve you been all this time?%u201D
%u201COh Link, I%u2019m sorry,%u201D Navi replied. %u201CI was looking for you too, but I%u2026I%u2019ve been in Hyrule.%u201D Link gasped.
%u201CWhat?! You were
there all along?!%u201D he exclaimed. Feeling somewhat like an idiot, he then said, %u201CI can%u2019t believe this, Navi. I just can%u2019t believe it.%u201D Navi stopped flapping her wings so hard.
%u201CI know, Link, I%u2019m real sorry,%u201D she said. %u201CI just didn%u2019t think you%u2019d go as far as leaving the kingdom to look for me.%u201D
Link thought about what Navi said. It was true he never looked for her in Hyrule. Now he regretted it. He should have looked there first. Link was beginning to feel like an idiot. How could he make such a mistake? He just couldn%u2019t figure it out.
%u201CI%u2019m sorry too,%u201D Link added. %u201CI should have looked around Hyrule first.%u201D
%u201CIt%u2019s okay, Link,%u201D Navi responded, politely. %u201CI miss Hyrule. How about we go back together?%u201D Link smiled.
%u201CSure!%u201D he agreed. He also missed Hyrule, as he hadn%u2019t been there for seven long years. Link and Navi started their journey home.
As Link and Navi began traveling back towards Hyrule, it kept getting darker and darker out until it was almost completely night time. The moon soon poked out from behind the trees and the howl of a wolf could be heard in the distance. Then, quietness broke out in the forest. So quiet, you could hear a twig drop. The silence was soon broken, however.
Just minutes after Link and Navi first started on their way, the faint sound of a horse%u2019s hooves could be heard from somewhere behind the trees. Link looked around to see where it was coming from. Pretty soon, a Palomino horse came in to view, running towards him. A girl, who looked no older than Link, was riding it, her long golden hair flowing behind her, a black headband worn in it. The girl had a sword and shield at her back, telling Link she fought enemies just as he did. The girl stopped her horse in front of Epona and Link, her blue eyes looking into his.
%u201CYour name is Link, right?%u201D the girl spoke gently. She had a concerned look on her face. Link%u2019s eyes widened with surprise. Waiting for an answer, the girl perked up her pointed ears.
%u201CI%u2026uh%u2026%u201D Link responded, still rather surprised. %u201CYeah, my name is Link. Who%u2019re you? And how%u2019d you know?%u201D The girl smiled. She could tell Link had never seen her before.
%u201CI%u2019m Kelli,%u201D the girl said. %u201CI was sent from Hyrule to look for you and I was given your name. And told what you look like.%u201D
%u201CI see,%u201D Link replied. %u201CWhat%u2019s going on in Hyrule? Why do they need me?%u201D Kelli looked away for a minute. She looked worried about something.
%u201CI%u2019ll explain later. Just come with me back to Hyrule,%u201D she told Link. Link nodded. They began their journey home.
Link found Kelli easy to get along with, talking and chatting with her on the way back to Hyrule. He learned her horse%u2019s name was Sunfire and that Zelda had given her to Kelli. Sunfire was a pretty horse. Her curly blonde mane and tail radiated beauty. Her saddle was light blue and red brown in color and bore the Triforce mark. And the straps were colored gold. It showed the beauty of a royal saddle.
About an hour after Link and Kelli first left, they were back in Hyrule. Link couldn%u2019t believe what he was seeing. Dark clouds were hovering over Death Mountain, Hyrule Castle could be seen turned evil, the drawbridge into the town was destroyed, the town walls were full of holes and were partially destroyed, and monsters were appearing all over Hyrule field. Link suddenly grew worried. Who or what could have done this? The question kept ringing through his head. Then he turned to Kelli. She too looked quite concerned.
%u201CKelli%u2026what%u2019s going on? What happened here?!%u201D Link exclaimed, worriedly. Kelli closed her eyes and looked down at the ground.
%u201CA mysterious evil did this%u2026%u201D she said as she opened her eyes and looked back up. %u201CNo one knows who, but this evil attacked the land and made it what it looks like now, though it is not completely destroyed yet.%u201D
%u201CThen we need to do something about it!%u201D Link replied. %u201CDoes anyone have any clue to this evil%u2019s identity?%u201D
%u201CNo%u2026that%u2019s what we need to find out,%u201D Kelli told him. Link could tell she had confidence in finding out this evil%u2019s identity. She then bravely said, %u201CAnd to do that, we need to find the King%u2026and Zelda. They%u2019re both in danger of being killed, so we must hurry.%u201D Link nodded.
%u201CBut where are they?%u201D
%u201CThe King is in the castle dungeon, but as for Zelda, I think she%u2019s been kidnapped.%u201D
Link got worried. He couldn%u2019t believe it. Zelda had always been a best friend to him. He never forgot the last few months he%u2019d spent with her before he left Hyrule. It had always been a happy memory, even in the worst times.
%u201COh no%u2026%u201D Link said, worriedly. His heart began to pound.
%u201CYes, it%u2019s true%u2026%u201D Kelli added. %u201CLet%u2019s go see the King first.%u201D Link nodded. Then, they headed for Hyrule Castle Town, avoiding enemies as they went.
As Link and Kelli rod their horses across the haunted Hyrule Field, Link noticed Lon Lon Ranch looked like it had seen some evil too. There were breaks in the walls and pieces from where it broke were lying in the grass. Link grew nervous. He hoped Malon, Talon, Ingo, and the animals were okay.
Nearly getting hit by a couple Guays, Link and Kelli arrived at the drawbridge into town. They dismounted their horses and climbed across it, entering Hyrule Castle Town.
Well, that's the end of the first chapter. It's kinda short, I know, but I can garantee most of the other chapters will be a lot longer.
Edit: What the...?! What's going on with the text here??? I just tried copying and pasting it twice and it still comes out like this. Can someone help me figure out what's up? Until then, I'll have to show you the link to my story's only chapter on fanfiction.net. *goes to get it*
