Shoutbox

I suggest a shoutbox. Actually, didn't there used to be one ?...

Yes, we did used to have a shoutbox, but if you'll look around countless threads, you'll see that it was removed.

Like a year ago maybe? But I'll fill you in for the time being.

If I can remember it was removed because it was slowing the site, inevitably causing the site to die down in my opinion. We've tried chats off the site, though those didn't work out in the end. On the site here, we have shoutbox substitutes like
The ZF chat, which we all don't use really, and the The ZF Cafe, being the most 'successful' so to speak, but most of us chat on MSN on almost a daily basis. Silverline might be putting in an actual shoutbox like the one before, but don't count on it anytime soon.

So, there you go. Since there are threads asking what happened to the shoutbox and threads attributed to its absence, I'm going to go ahead and close this.

Just throwing this out there, but ZeldaLegacy.net had the same problem, and they found a shoutbox that deleted it's messages after 4 pages so as to not overload the server, and it's JAVA based so it doesnt' save the messages in the PHP database. It solves the problem over overworking the server.
