Charmeine Dyr
Hello. I'm new, and I know I'm not very known, but I just got interested in the RPG thread right away, so pardon me, but the first thing I shall do is to post a character.
Anything between "and in italics" is a quote from the character.
Name: Charmeine 'Charm' Dyr
Title: "Aphrodite, but you call me Sweetheart"
Age: 19
Height: 175 centimeters
Weight: "My, I'm afraid that's a rude thing to ask for!"
Build: Thin, not really skinny but not bulky. His body is rather slim.
Eyes: "The most perfect blue you've ever seen"
Hair: Black and straight, long. Reaches his lower back
Alignment: Neutral, will pick side depending on convenience and relationships.
Race: Elf
Religion: "Oh, yes, religion... Don't have one. Alas, in any religion, the only being nearly as perfect as the God(s)/Goddess(es) is me."
Description: He has a heart-shaped face with creamy skin: not too dark and not too pale, though he always complain about it, since he is sure that a pale skin would match his features and enhance them more. His black hair falls on his face softly, cut short not to take out visibility, the front the shortest and longer on the edges on his face so it hugs his face slightly.
His neck is long, elegant. Not enough to be called giraffe, though. A broad chest and slightly-muscular back and arms under his clothes helps him to catch attention as much as his long, slender legs do. His hands are medium-sized, with elongated fingers that end in nicely-cut, well-cared-for, short nails.
He usually wears in a loose, long-sleeved white silk shirt and fitting black pants, along with brown comfortable boots for long walks, that don't stop looking nice and clean. A silver belt on his waist, a golden necklace and a black choker around his neck finish his favorite costume, though he's usually seen completely covered with a long cloak and a hood, used only when he wants to go by unnoticed.
Equipment: His only weapon is a dagger he keeps tied to his belt, which he rarely uses and is only for desperate-self-defense, since he is clumsy with it and normally prefers fighting bare-fist. Kicking is his preferred attack, since it helps keep distance between the enemy and his loved face. Under his long white sleeves, covering the forearm, are metal plates covered in leather, resistant in case he needs to protect himself from a blade or a hard hit. They are on his arms only because he will cross his arms in front of himself if attacked so closely, so it for face-defense mostly if he can't jump away in time to evade.
Other than that, Charmeine doesn't carry any weapon or shield, since he does not see it as a necessity. He much prefers to only carry a bag for his money and a few medicines just in case, along with a few bandages.
Magic: "Magic? Is this Harry Potter? All we need is the Magic of Love."
Special Abilities: It was not inherited, perhaps it is some sickness, but Charmeine's only special ability seems to be to make people fall in love with him.
It is something about sex pheromones, Charmeine's are quite easily noticeable by most creatures, so once they sense the pheromones, conscious or unconsciously, the body does the rest. Charmeine's pheromones either send message to other people's brain to create attraction (no matter if male or female, the other person), or just affect enough to create a friendship.
Of course, it doesn't always work, but even if it doesn't hit the target correctly, it'll at least get the person not to be overly hostile. This is the reason why he doesn't carry much weapons or shields, since he can merely make people like him. And you don't attack the people you like, don't you? This is also the reason why he was called 'Aphrodite' by his parents, who noticed the odd thing when the boy was young.
Still, the reason he still carries protection and a dagger, and the reason why he knows how to fight in first place, is because a fourth part of the population, for a reason or another, randomly isn't affected (at all) by this special ability, and should he get into trouble with one of those people, he would be in trouble.
History: He doesnt' come from the best family, really. His fathers were traitors on their Kingdom, and unluckily they were caught while attempting to kill the Prince of their land. The managed to escape, though, and went to the nearest Kingdom, where they wouldn't be chased anymore. A year later was when Charmeine was born. This made his parents decide to try and make a new life in this land, for Charmeine's sake, instead of continue the ploting to go back to their homeland to make another criminal attempt.
However, as Charmeine grew, people started to find out about the family's past, and they had to run from Town to Town, never staying for too long. Charmeine was quick to make friends, and even had lots of young girls that liked him, so moving so often didn't really affect him.
One day, they left a ten-years-old Charmeine home to 'go to the market', but they never came back. Information had gone from that Kingdom to their homeland, and soldiers had been chasing them down, killing them the night they found them. Charmeine remained at their home for a while, until he was short in food. He wasn't oblivious to the fact his parents had died, from the chats int he town market and all, but no one seemed to realize they had left their son behind, surely they just assumed he had been killed too, or taken away.
He had to manage by himself when the food was over, since most people wouldn't give him food for free even if they pitied him. He had to make favors all around to get money or food, either of which he appreciated. When he turned 15, he discovered a new way to make money with that special ability of his. It all started a little after when he got the motherly affection of an old and wealthy lady from the town he lived at. She gave him good clothes and the necklace he always carries around, and even offered to share her nice home. Charmeine didn't complain, fond of the lady ever since he was twelve.
After year of living with her and listen to her talking about her dear husband that had out in another town for about a year and half, Charmeine got the love interest of a person he barely knew. This time it was a guy, and even when he was not the nicest person to everyone else, he gave Charmeine a horse to 'prove his love for the other'. Charmeine of course accepted, but the next morning he was gone. He had decided to go look for the old lady's husband, to pay back for the time they had spent together and what she gave to him.
It was a shame all he found out was that the man had died, killed by a thief that had tried to steal from him. He almost didn't have the heart to go back, but he did a month later, only to find out the lady had also died, but she died for natural causes.
Having no one left to stay on that village, not wanting to see the guy that gave him the horse again, and not having the lady's money to survive, he moved on to another village, staying there for his own sake. The memory of the horse so easily given to him, and the daily remainder of how easily people fell for him, made him start training to the point he could release his pheromones at will, and due to bad experiences he also learnt to protect himself.
At the age of nineteen, he currently is a professional heartbreaker, sometimes not even needing to use his ability to get a favor, gold or gifts. The thing he prides himself on, though, is that he has never had to make 'dirty favors' for the people he gets his oney for. He doesn't seem to be ashamed of himself for what he does to live, but the attention of everyone on him surely made him get that proud and sometimes annoying air of 'everyone loves me', 'I'm better than you', and 'I'm the most precious thing in this world'.
