-----------
History: Eden was born into a very wealthy family, for her father – Adrastos Orpheus- was a nobleman. Eden’s mother came from a long line of Wizards and Sorceresses, though this knowledge of magic was unknown to Eden and her father. Disappointed that Eden was his only child (Not to mention a woman) Eden’s father started to teach her art of archery, which was passed down from father to son in his family. Eden became skilled very quickly, and would practice everyday. At the age of eight, Eden’s family was expecting another child. Her mother went into labor during the night, but later died during childbirth. Eden and her father were devastated, and during these times of depression, her father would spend hours at the local taverns. He would often came home drunk, with different women each night. After the women left in the morning, he would stay in bed –not sleeping, but laying awake, staring at the stone roof. Eden would have to learn to fend for herself, and only herself. She used her archery skills to kill small animals to cook for her and sometimes father.
One night when Eden’s father failed to come home, she laid on her parent’s bed. Memories of her mother came rushing back, as tears swelled in her eyes. The stories her mother told her replayed in her head. The stories of Wizards and Sorceresses defeating evil, and brave swordsmen slaying the dragon while saving the princess. And the soft, poetic lullaby she sang was being whispered in her ear once again.
Walk out the door,
My beautiful child,
Walk into the woods of lore;
Follow the path
My beautiful child,
And forget the world’s wrath…
The tree’s will sing,
A whispered song,
As they wait for their king,
Cunning and strong.
Look for the box,
Covered in brown,
Veiled by the fox
And answer to the calling sound’.
A scepter of green
A book of spells
You will be keen,
Ignore all that dwells
Walk out the door,
My beautiful child,
Walk into the woods of lore….
As the song replayed and replayed, Eden left the house she had known and loved and listen to the song carefully. She followed it as if it were giving her directions. She walked into the woods that were near her home, and followed a path that was covered with moss and stones. It led her to small area where the tree’s did not grow, but grew along the edges of the grassy area. It was dark and hard to see until she saw what she thinks was a small house. Eden began to run as the song played louder and louder, until she approached the house. It had a large door and stained class windows. There was a large weeping willow above it. Eden put her hand on the door and pushed….
It was furnished with only a table, four wooden chairs, and a rather large bed where vines somehow covered the legs of it. In fact, there were vines everywhere on the ground. Eden took one step, and found out it was safe. As she moved further into the house, the vines began to disappear and made a dirt path leading to a wooden door. Eden opened it, and there lay a long, brown box with little foxes engraved on it. Eden looked for the opening, but the was none. Then she thought of something. She began to sing the lullaby and the box opened slowly. In it lay a long, green scepter with vines engraved on it. Underneath was a book with her mother’s handwriting on it, and it read, “ For you, Eden.” Eden began to read the book. It told of her mother side of the family, and the power she possessed.
Eden stepped outside and stuck the scepter in the ground where the tree’s did not grow. Suddenly, vines and young saplings became to sprout. She whirled the scepter around her head once, and the wind began to blow fiercely, knocking her over. She lifted it above her head and flames began to fire out.
Eden is now at the age of seven-teen and has mastered the Elemental Powers.
-----
End.
^_^
Very long history, I know. But I do plan on making a story with Eden when the RP is over.
