Yes, but that doesn't mean that this new link is the actual Link. Meaning that they are preforming a tradition passed down for genereations of Hyrule people. So this new hero, is not actually the real link, but he is born anew.

We never said he was the same Link. Not even a reincarnation. As I said above, my theory is that he just gained some traits of OoT Link when he put the Triforce of Courage together because the Triforce of Courage is what gave OoT Link his power.

Well dont mean to be a game spoiler but when you see the king of red lions near the end of Wind Waker, he said that the hero and Zelda were their (the char you play Tetra) their ancestors but who knows I could be completely wrong because when you talk to Jabun the boat says you have know connection to the sacred one. but if he wasnt talking about link then thats probably a completly different story.

The OoT is deffinately not in anyway related to the WW Link. One of the main reasons is Link knows nothing of his family, or his parents. The only thing he knows is his mother left him in the care of the Deku tree. So if Link didn't remember his parents he wouldn't know he had a grandma or sister!

well the OoT Link and the WW link are two completely different people. <_<
Link saved Hyrule, then went to Termina during that time, it could be possible that Hyrule flooded and then we dont know what Link does now a few hundred years later a boy on Outset islandd became of age to wear the tunic and dress like the hero in the legend hence link . The child on Outset is the one with the grandma and sister not the Link from OoT. When he finds out that Tetra is really Zelda the King of Redl Lions says that the hero in the legend is the boys ancestor.

Will someone please answer my question? Why in heck would Link go looking for Navi or Zelda if he was the one who left? It's not like once he left everyone in Hyrule disappeared.

Well he Knew ZELDA was in Hyrule the whole time and she asked him and he didnt say. I find it very doubtful that he would be looking for Navi
