Missing Shield

has anyone else heard of link missing his shield... i use to have it but now its not there.... does anyone know what to do short of starting over?

Well, it didn't just disappear, (I am assuming you're talking about TP) if you were using a wooden shield, it probably got burnt up from a fire arrow or another source of fire. You don't have to start over, you just need to buy another shield at the Malo Mart or somewhere. I would also recommend buying the Hylian shield ASAP.

ok thanks... i do remember that happening.... but where is the malo mart? or a place i can get that shield you were talking about

The Malo Mart is in Kakariko Village, and the Hylain shield (made of metal so it won't burn) is avaiable to buy at some point in the game. If you can't buy it yet, then you should go do the dungeon or the thing you need to do to advance in the storyline, and you should get it pretty soon.
