Windows, Mac, Linux or Solaris

Which is you favourite OS? I prefer Windows but I am now leaning toward Solaris as it's open source

This isn't going to get many votes other than Windows. And I am not going to be one of the others. I'm going for Windows. It is definately better, especially since more games are made for it. A lot of games I have I tried to install on my friend's and it wouldn't work. He was using a Mac.

Definitely Windows. Looking forward to getting Vista, looks amazing from what I've seen!

Vista came out yesterday, right? I think that is what it said on the news.

Solaris and Linux are open source which means (or so I'm told) that any software works on them. Vista is very good, we use it at school. Too bad it's not free =p

I use Windows though I did use Linux for a while (Mandriva, Ubuntu etc.)

Also, Open source actually means the source code is open to everyone and you're allowed to edit and redistribute it freely. Windows and Mac are not like that.

Yes, and from what a friend of mine said, you can easily change it to allow all software to be installed

Hmm, well, I've used Linux, Windows and Mac, and even if Mac can't run as many games as Windows, I'd have to say that Mac is not only prettier (haha, stupid reason! XD), but the programs run a lot more smoothly. My brother's Windows has more problems with the programs, such as more frequent freezing than my Mac (seeing as my Mac has never once, in the past three years, frozen), gets more viruses (my Mac's never had a virus ever, for that matter...), and besides that, I don't play many computer games, so I can do without. The one I do play, however, can't be played on Mac, which is the only downside. S'alright though, since I read more, anyway... and I play more Zelda than anything else, which is about 98% of the time. xP

But anyway, Windows isn't bad and neither is Linux, but I really just prefer my Mac. Fewer viruses, so far there hasn't been any freezing, and programs don't just close as often as it has on the Windows... <__<;;; That grates my nerves, 'specially when I'm writing fanfiction on the Windows downstairs. @.@;; Buuut anyway, that's just me.. literally, seeing as I'm the only one so far who's voted for Mac. XD

Yeah.. I love my Mac. <3
