Emos

Ok well this is a big issue around my hometown atm. Everyone seems to hate emos.
Eg on Friday all of my wog ( Popular kids, jocks, muzzas, whatever translates over to your country) mates got in a huge punch on with all of my Emo mates and i was sitting there in my black sabbath shirt, smoking and thinking wtf is the point of this.
I would just like to know peoples opinions on the whole Emo scene, and why people feel the need to abuse them and harass them at every possible oppurtunity. I will jump in with my opinion if this picks up.

Well, it depends on what type of EMO. If its the wierd "Oh, I cut my wrists!" EMO then why should they care if they get beaten up everyday of thier lives, they want to die! lol

But if its simply the gothic type I have no problem with em.

Really, the "I cut my wrists!" EMO sorta deserve it in a way. I know it sounds cold but try and see it through a bullys eyes. lol

The main problem with emo kids is just their outlook on life. They basically hold the point of view that life completely sucks, the entire world is out to get them, and that they should either commit suicide or try and brave the harsh world by "carrying on through the darkness." The whole things just idiotic, you're in highschool, life doesn't suck at all yet. They're oversensitive physically, emotionally, and in pretty much every other place you can be sensitive, and they expect everyone else to patronize them or they slip into depression. Life is what you make it out to be, and they make it out to be a depressing hell hole, and because of this they turn into depressing assholes.

emo's from where I'm from arnt harmed at all by other people, they're too busy doing it to themselves, but yeah there isnt that much of them round my area, I live in a chav filled town, man I hate them

Emo is just a randomly used word around here lol. If you get cut people call you emo. It is kinda stupid. Emos have a really bad point of view on life. They hate it. And, as I think TMP said, why should they care if they get beat up? They beat up themselves. And they hate life anyway. But I still don't have problems with them. As long as they leave me out of their I Hate The World...ness then I'm okay with them. Don't beat them up though lol.

Well, goth's have a similar viewpoint, but I usually respect them because they're cynical for a reason. Goth's are usually relatively intelligent, and give a logical reason for hating the world, like capitalism, war, ect...... although I don't usually agree with them, I respect they're opinions. Emo kids usually hate the world because they get bad grades, fail gym, and break up with their bf/gf, They're more of a pathetic excuse for a goth. If you try and insult a goth, they give a witty comeback. Insult an emo kid and they just cry, that pretty much sums up the difference between the two.

Well Im pretty much a goth/metal head and i like to think im slightly more intelligent than the average bum. From my experiance within the emo circles, its usually the kids who are already depressed who become emo because that culture suits them. I havent really come across many kids who like emo music and dress emo, and pretend to be depressed n **** to get attention, there are a few, but they get boots to the groin whenever i see them lol.
Yeh true leinator, goths understand y the world sucks but goth is more of a hate for the world, while ive found emo is like, kids who havent got the mental strength to fight the world.
But for instance as a goth, i dont think my life sucks. I have my problems, but they are nothing compared to some people and dont whinge about things that arent worth whinging about, and i would never sink to the level of cutting myself for attention.
I have a few friends who used cut themselves very lightly then go around and be like "OMG i was so depressed last nite watshisface dumped me OMG" I told them to stick their wrists and their depression up their ass and come get wasted with me lol.
but all in all, most of the emos im friends with are perfectly happy, they just like the music and the image. i think the whole depression cutting thing is a huge stereotype without that much behind it to back it up. Emo to me is kids who want to be more hardcore than pop culture, but havent got the balls to go goth lol.

Goth and metal heads (ive been told) are very different. The main reason i hate emos is because they wear womens pants, besides the fact that they are pathic excuses of life. >_> <_<
