Hylian Symbol

The Hylian Symbol -
Well, I have often wondered about what exactly this symbol represents, or maybe means. I though about it for awhile and though that there could possibly be some type of Guardian in the Sacred Realm that protects the Triforce, and you would probably have to get through this Guardian to get the Triforce, maybe Ganondorf defeated it when he obtained the Triforce of Power? or maybe he could've held it back long enough to get it.

What do you guys think this symbol could mean? Please use supportive details in your response.

I remember reading an article on a website saying the symbol is something religious, A Pheonix.
If you have noticed many consider pheonix's to represent life.
If you have read the TRUE story of Zelda you will know its a prophecy that a new hero (link) will be reborn to take out evil (gannon)
Mayby the symbol represents the almost everlasting life of link? O_o

I agree with TMP, the pheonix, if anyone knows the story, actually represents rebirth, the pheonix rises up out of it's own ashes into new life. makes sense actually, if you consider the fact that a new hero is born every time a threat arises.

yeah, TMP's theory sounds about right, I do know a little about mythology and the pheonix represents rebirth

That sounds like a very reasenable conclusion. The Pheonix, wich is said to have eternal life, symbolises Link's different lives in a great way. An old Link dies or disappears, and a new Link arises from the ashes of the old one. Beautiful!

yeah i have to agree with TMP, that is what a phoenix represents, and it makes sence! but it would be cool if what "Link !" said about the 4th triforce (not possible though, for one, um tri- from triforce, means 3!, but it still seems cool!)
