Our school had a similar problem I believe back in March or April, where a student had written in the boys/girls locker room/ bathroom (I don't really remember which one) a date, which was suppose to be the date when the shooting was suppose to happen, and than "REVOLUTION". There was rumors that there was a "hit list" of boys names in the locker room, as well as some other minor things around the girls bathroom, but they were just so stretched out that I didn't really care much about them. The school saw it as a threat and the police was informed about it. They also sent a letter home right away about it to our parents and told him to not worry about it.
Eventually, the date came, and it ended up that half of the school, literally, didn’t show up that day and we had under-cover cops patrolling the hallways, and in between classes, teachers had to stand out in the hallway to supervise everyone. While we were in class, our Dean went to every single student’s locker and did a search for weapons, and it ended up that this girl I know had a pocket knife in her locker. The girl, who I know, said that her father made her bring it to school, so just in case there was a shooter, she had something to defend herself with. But, I guess she didn’t think that if she was ever in a face-to-face scenario with a shooter with a loaded gun, a knife is hardly going to anything. In the end she received OSS for two weeks and our Super Intendant sent another letter home saying how the threat wasn’t initiated and how he was disappointed that a small threat was made into such a predicament that half of the school was absent, which held up class schedules and made it difficult for a regular day to exist. Afterwards, we had to watch movies on “Rumors” and when to tell the difference between a rumor and a fact and all this other stuff. ♥
