Stomping on old grounds

Wow, is this place dead. It's almost appropriate that I show up now... It's been ages since I last signed on to this forum, was half expecting it to be gone completely. The nostalgia this place gives off is comforting, yet sorrowful. I remember and miss all of my friends that once roamed this part of the net... They were, for the most part, a major influence is the kind of person I grew up to be. A scary thought, yes, but true nonetheless. A part of me aches for the days where I could come home from school, log on, and talk to all of you. But alas, we have all scattered away and I don't know if I'll ever speak to any of you again. If not, the memories of our time together will live on forever.

I doubt anyone will read this. But I figured even a Death God deserves to pay his last respects.

Goodbye Zelda Forums. Thank you for the friends and happiness you have brought me, and may you rest in peace.

There are a few of us who check the forums occasionally, and I have to say we agree.

This place helped to shape many of us into who we are oday, and ZF has had a big effect on my life personally. It's still up, but I fear only for ad revenue, as new regestrations have been disabled. Everybody has gone their seperate ways, for the most part, and it's is indeed a sad thought. But we have the memories; past, present and future ones.

I still maintain that if we could find some way around the fact that people can't register, we COULD get this place up and running again.

I know that part of the reason whoever owns this place now wanted to stop the spam bots, but we could handle those no problem.

I've just spent 10 minutes playing in the admin control pannel, but I can't seem to find anything that would let me allow new users to join. I've edited my permission and abilities, but still nothing. I don't think there's anything we can change about that. Seems like it's purely under webmaster capability.

It would be, but no one can replace the old!
Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough, or I've missed it. But in all honesty I can't ever see this place back to normal again. Damn shame.
