sorry if this has been discussed a gazillion times, but I was wondering how this is done, with what tool is it done with, and whether it can be done without a tool assisting program.

well that explains how it is done in tool assisting. Is it possible to achieve this without tool assist programs? he says that its done by pressing up and down or left and right, so maybe it can be done. I cant seem to do it though lol.

Ah, this be my speciality.
This can only be done with a SNES version and a genuine SNES controller. I have never done it myself but it is something to do with altering the controller INSIDE, so you have to probably alter the area around the D-Pad itself allowing you to press em all down at once.
The trick is preformed by walking DOWN a set of stairs and holding all the D-Pad buttons at the same time, after which you must instantly go back up them causing link to fall through, allowing the trick to be preformed.

I do not know if this is the case as I have not tried it.

Yeah, you split the controller in two and pull both D-Pad buttons down at the same time, though I don't suggest trying it because a fried-forum member is no good to us. =P

That seems like a huge amount of effort and risk to gaming consoles for just a glitch lol.

WOW thats awesome! though i dont feel like pulling apart my one and only snes controller :S. Perhaps one could illegally obtain a snes emulator and aLTTP rom and use the turbo button functions...
